LIFE AND MAKING OF SPEEDY G

Born in Nairobi City Sept 1989, speedy g (Asim) was an average kid that blended in well with society. He had two great loving parents and relatives from three different countries. His life began in an apartment ground floor, where the neighbours were noisy and the children had holiday’s every day. He grew up well, till the age of 2 years when he left for Mombasa, a smaller city 500km away from Nairobi. The new warmer climate moulded him to a stronger boy as he walked to school every day. His first baby sister was born when he turned 4 years of age. The Four lived at peace until it was time to move back due to financial issues. They then moved back to South C in Nairobi City, when Asim was only six years of age where he joined a new school and made new friends.
He completed his fourth form in 2006 and then decided to do A-levels in the same school for another two years. It was the year 2007, when the incident happened that changed his life forever. His life was so perfect, His university was ready to accept him, his sisters were coming up well in their education when suddenly one bright Saturday morning changed to a sand storm when he realized his father was undergoing a stroke. The brain stroke left him paralyzed form the right side down, and all basic motor functions were useless. Asim, as the only son, was now the man of the house. All that he had once dreamed would come crashing down when he realized he has far much responsibility than he could ever imagine. His classmate’s didn’t understand, they had their own lives to live. He now had to work and study, picking up from where his father left without a clue on how the business ran, and no one to teach him how, he struggled to get up on his own two feet. His father had no insurance what so ever, so all the money was spent paying the hospital, school fees, examination fees, rent and food. Soon obtaining basic necessities was becoming an issue and he had to turn to his distant relatives for a helping hand. Yes they would help once in a blue moon, but it wasn’t enough. His pain and stress left him with sleepless nights wondering how it would have been if his dad was fine. He envied his classmates for what they did today and prays one day he will get back on track. His stress, drama and fatigue turned into lyrics and they have powered him to record the songs he has made today.

RAP N ROLL TEASER

RAMPS AND AMPS REVIEW

The event was good on the AMPs side but on the RAMP side I would give it (negative)-1 out of 10.
The ground put up for skateboarding was too rough and unnavigable.
I feel as though I ruined my deck, my time and energy! The only thing I got good from that was a SUN TAN! LOL
I respected the band performers for their courage and realism and wish that one day I will be up there on the on the stage! LOL.
Fredy thanks for your hard work! this shows us that no matter how much we know we dont wanna go, you can still convince us and make us work together! thats great bro!...ur a team player!

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls,
What can I say, we had such a blast last time that we had to do it again!

Dudes and dudettes, the awesome, awesome people form the 'Ski - Iceskate Africa Foundation' bring you the second edition of Ramps and Amps. These guys are a group dedicated to making the world a better place through skating, we're just along for the ride and free things :)
These guys have been around since 1999, founded b...y none-other than Mr. Vincent Ogola, with the main aim of bringing together different skaters from varied backgrounds all in the name of the greater good... Their kinda like super-heroes if you think about it.

So, here's what's going to go down on the said day; the event kicks-off at 10:00am, where the skating shall commence. There shall be an array of equipment including skates, roller hockey sticks, scooters, ripstcks, skateboards, trampoline, sky runners, skateboards and so much more!
Bands hit the stage at mid-day and that's when the magic happens.

Food and beverage will be on sale, so come ready to eat pig-out till you can't stand!
And of course, this is a charity event, funds raised on the day will go out to buying equipment for the needy kids and the less fortunate.

Entrance is ONLY 250/- Ksh, hardly enough to put a dent in your pockets.

*STRICTLY DRUG-FREE EVENT!*

We guarantee an afternoon of fun and awesomeness, you will not regret attending. Looking forward to seeing you all there!
